Toddler Time is a one day per week program for children ages 21 - 26 months by September 1st. Parents (or caregivers) attend with their children, and they meet on Wednesday mornings from 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Nearly Threes is for children who are 27 - 35 months old by September 1st and meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:15 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. Parents and caregivers stay for the first 4-6 classes but are also welcome beyond that. Adults are expected to stay on site for children not yet fully toilet trained. In the Spring, this program also adds Friday classes.
The morning program begins at 9:00 a.m. and concludes by noon. Children may arrive as early as 8:30 a.m. and must be picked up by noon. Morning programs are five days per week.
Thorne School also offers an afternoon program for three and four-year-olds combined. Although the specific content of activities may vary, the general structure of the afternoon program is similar to that of the morning programs. The afternoon program begins at 12:30 p.m. and concludes at 3:30 p.m. The afternoon program is two, three or five days per week.
Children may attend the morning program, the afternoon program or both. For children attending both programs, arrangements can be made for the child to remain at the Thorne School through the lunch period, although children who do remain at school must provide their own lunches.
Kindergarten generally follows the Lower Merion school calendar.
Hours are 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
