With support from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, we welcome Ken Bain, author of What the Best College Teachers Do, as the first Fellow of The Andrew W. Mellon Teaching and Learning Institute.

Ken offered a workshop on September 17, 2010, focused on creating a “natural critical learning environment.”

In both the Fall and Spring semesters of the 2010-2011 academic year, Ken will work with small cohorts of Bryn Mawr and Haverford College faculty as they each work to develop what Bain calls “a promising syllabus” as well as a natural critical learning environment.
