If you want bring your bike with you into Philadelphia or other cities this link lets you know the rules for the particular mode of transportation that you will use:
Bicycles on Public Transit

NJ Transit

  • Rail: 2 bikes per car. ┬áBikes are allowed at all times on the Atlantic City Line.
  • Bus: Local buses have bike racks, long distances buses store bikes in the luggage compartment. ┬áBikes are not allowed inside the buses
  • RiverLINE: Trains have hanging bike racks, 3 per passenger compartment

PATCO

  • 2 bikes per car
  • Hold bikes in doorways on the non platform side of the train

AMTRAK

  • You can check a boxed bike on trains with checked baggage for $7 plus the cost of the box $15 ($22 total)

Greyhound

  • Require bikes to be boxed or in a case

Bolt Bus

  • Will take bicycles if there is room in luggage bay

Megabus

  • No bikes allowed

Chinatown Bus

  • Will take bicycles if there is room in luggage bay
