Other Public Transit & Bicycles

If you want bring your bike with you into Philadelphia or other cities this link lets you know the rules for the particular mode of transportation that you will use:
Bicycles on Public Transit

NJ Transit

  • Rail: 2 bikes per car.  Bikes are allowed at all times on the Atlantic City Line.
  • Bus: Local buses have bike racks, long distances buses store bikes in the luggage compartment.  Bikes are not allowed inside the buses
  • RiverLINE: Trains have hanging bike racks, 3 per passenger compartment

PATCO

  • 2 bikes per car
  • Hold bikes in doorways on the non platform side of the train

AMTRAK

  • You can check a boxed bike on trains with checked baggage for $7 plus the cost of the box $15 ($22 total)

Greyhound

  • Require bikes to be boxed or in a case

Bolt Bus

  • Will take bicycles if there is room in luggage bay

Megabus

  • No bikes allowed

Chinatown Bus

  • Will take bicycles if there is room in luggage bay
