Day 1: Depart the U.S.

Board your overnight flight to Barcelona today.

Day 2: Arrival in Barcelona

Transfer to your hotel and enjoy a free afternoon at your leisure before meeting your fellow travelers at tonight’s welcome dinner. Because of varying arrival times, no activities are planned for this afternoon - use this time to begin to explore the city!!
 

Day 3: Sightseeing tour of Barcelona

Discover why the Catalan capital is touted for its unparalleled architectural landmarks, many of which are UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Step inside La Sagrada Família, Gaudí’s famous masterwork-in-progress
•     Drive along Passeig de Gràcia, past Gaudí’s “House of Bones”
•     Stop at Montjuïc, site of the 1992 Olympic Games took place, and take in the panoramic views at Mirador de l’Alcalde Park
•     Pass Plaça d’Espanya, one of the city’s most important squares, and stroll past the soaring Columbus Monument, dedicated to the legendary explorer


Then, take the afternoon to explore the city on your own or add an excursion:     Park Güell & La Pedrera

Park Güell & La Pedrera | $85* (4 hours, departure time varies)

On today’s excursion, discover the magnificent works of Antoni Gaudí, the famed Spanish architect known for his bold, distinct designs. Casa Milà is the first stop. Take a guided tour of this building, popularly known as La Pedrera, built by Gaudí between 1905 and 1910. Everything about the building is visually unique, from the wave-like stone structure and grandly designed roof to the apartment that reflects the style of the 20th- century bourgeois. Next, you’ll head to Park Güell, also designed by Gaudí. Your guide will lead you through the park, which contains stunning buildings, intricate stonework and colorful mosaics. At the top of the park, marvel at the brilliant views of Barcelona. Please note: This excursion requires advanced reservations and payment at least 20 days prior to departure.

Day 4: Free day in Barcelona

Picasso & Gothic Barcelona | $65/$75* (4 hours, departs in the morning)

On today’s excursion, visit Barcelona’s Picasso Museum. You’ll also venture to the Gothic Quarter, home to the city’s massive cathedral. Commonly referred to as La Seu, the Cathedral de la Santa Creui Santa Eulàlia (named after the city’s patron saint), opens its doors to you on this excursion.

 

Day 5: Flamenco show & farewell dinner

Tonight, say goodbye to your group at a signature farewell dinner, followed by an authentic flamenco show. The art of flamenco dancing is one of Spain’s most well-loved traditions, and the performance is the perfect way to cap off your trip.

Montserrat & Cava Cellars | $79 (8 hours, departs in the morning)

Step outside Barcelona this morning on a journey to the Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey, located about an hour north of the city. After a guided tour, you’ll be free to explore this mountainous enclave on your own. You may have a chance to visit La Moreneta, Catalonia’s miraculous and beloved statue of the Black Virgin of Montserrat. Or, ride the St. Joan cable car to the heights of Montserrat, where you’ll find sweeping views of Catalonia. If you’re lucky, you may be able to hear a performance of L’Escolania, the boys’ choir that practices daily at the abbey. Later, drive to cava wine country. You’ll descend into a wine cellar to learn about the production of cava and taste the sparkling white wine for which Spain is famous. Please note: Due to the ever-changing schedule of church activities, a viewing of the Black Virgin of Montserrat statue cannot be guaranteed.

Day 6: Departure
