Arabic at Bryn Mawr is part of a Tri-College Consortium funded by the Mellon Foundation. First and Second Year Arabic are offered at Bryn Mawr and Haverford colleges (in addition Swarthmore college). Third year and more advanced Arabic are offered at Swarthmore college. Occasionally, a third year communicative Arabic class is offered at Bryn Mawr.

First and second year classes will be taught by Dr. Darwish and by Farnaz Perry.

Combines intensive oral practice with writing and reading in the modern language. The course aims to increase students' expressive ability through the introduction of more advanced grammatical patterns and idiomatic expressions. Introduces students to authentic written texts and examples of Arabic expression through several media. Prerequisite: ARAB H002 or placement by instructor.
