Launched in November 2015, the Dante Study Group celebrated Dante’s final vision in April.
The group met monthly at the home of Barbara Powell ’62 to tackle The Divine Comedy, the epic three-part poem written in 14th-century Italy about the poet’s journey through hell, purgatory, and paradise. Former president of Bryn Mawr College and the Dante Society Nancy Vickers provided expertise, while the assembled partook of antipasti, Italian wine, and a wide-ranging discussion of the Inferno, the Purgatorio, and the Paradiso.
Pictured are the hardy souls who persevered to the last line. For their finale, the group celebrated with champagne and angel food cake.
