Careers in Library & Information Science

Bryn Mawr College Library and Information Technology Services, in partnership with Haverford, Swarthmore, and Lafayette, hosts a week-long program each spring. Housing, some meals, and a stipend provided. Check back for information about applying in winter for this early summer opportunity.

See more about the 2019 to present CiLIS programs and about the Bryn Mawr application for CiLIS.

The purpose of the Careers in Library and Information Science (CiLIS) Program is to introduce students (especially from underrepresented groups) to the field of library and information science, and to promote equity, diversity and inclusion in the profession. This is a full-time workshop. You’ll participate in seminars, discussions, and field trips focused on:

  • social justice issues in librarianship
  • career options in the information field
  • archives and special collections
