Martha Biery (B.S., University of Connecticut; M.Ed., West Chester University) is certified as a reading specialist and as a Level 1 teacher in the Wilson Reading System. Additionally, she has completed training in the Lindamood-Bell Program and Phonographix. She specializes in remediation of all types of reading disabilities and diagnostic reading testing.
Nancy Crawford (B.A., University of Pennsylvania; M.A., Bryn Mawr College) works with middle school, high school, and college students. Her areas of specialization include reading comprehension, written composition, and study and organization skills.
Catherine Kalb (B.S. Gwynedd Mercy University; M. Ed.in Reading Arcadia University) is certified as a reading specialist and a Level 1 Wilson Reading System teacher. She specializes in remediation of reading disabilities.
Elizabeth Keane (B.S., Elizabethtown College; M.Ed., West Chester University) is certified in special education, elementary education, and middle school language arts. She is also certified as a reading specialist and is a Level 1 teacher in the Wilson Reading System. Prior to coming to Bryn Mawr College, she was a K-12 special education teacher in the public school system. Her areas of specialization include beginning reading instruction, phonics, reading comprehension, written expression, and study skills.
Colby Madden (B.A., State University of New York, Cortland College; M.S., University of Pennsylvania) has Pennsylvania certification as a reading specialist. She specializes in psycholinguistics and reading, and provides educational support services in the remediation of reading difficulties.
Anne Van Arkel (B.A., Bryn Mawr College; M.S., University of Pennsylvania) has Pennsylvania certification as a reading specialist and Level 1 certification in the Wilson Reading System, as well as training in Project Read and other Orton-Gillingham based programs. Her areas of specialization include beginning reading instruction, reading comprehension, study skills, SAT preparation, writing, spelling, and remediation of reading difficulty with students of all ages.
Bruce Williamson (B.S. Chemical Engineering, Northeastern University 1977; M.S. Chemical Engineering, Ohio State University 1979; M.S. Education, Widener University 1987) is a science/mathematics teacher with training in Orton Gillingham. He currently teaches chemistry at Delaware Valley Friends School in Paoli. His areas of specialization include remediation for mathematics and physical sciences from fifth grade to college.
