The Dorm Leadership Team is comprised of student leaders who staff our residence halls and serve as a tremendous resource for new students as they navigate their way through college life. Members of the Dorm Leadership Team include:
Customs People (CPs) help to welcome new, transfer, and guest students. They live in the halls and assist in making the transition to college life smooth for these students who are new to Bryn Mawr College, as well as provide ongoing support throughout the academic year.
The Customs Committee is made up of a head Customs Person from each dorm. Both CPs and the Customs Committee are part of the Office of Student Activities.
Hall Advisers (HAs) assist in developing a living-learning community among residents, help with the administrative operations of the hall, and educate students about College policies and the Honor Code. The HAs are part of the Residential Life Office.
Community Diversity Assistants
Working closely with the Pensby Center, Community Diversity Assistants (CDAs) help the Bryn Mawr College community understand and celebrate its diversity across a variety of categories, e.g. race, socioeconomic class, gender identity, sexuality, etc.
Peer Mentors are trained to help students navigate college life by identifying and implementing techniques for time and stress management, effective note taking skills, professor-student interaction conventions, course specific study techniques, and maintaining balance at Bryn Mawr.
Dorm Presidents are elected representatives of the Self-Government Association (SGA) who represent each dorm in all SGA matters. Collectively they comprise the Residence Council and are liaisons for Facilities Services, Housekeeping, and Residential Life within each dorm. The Dorm Presidents work closely with the Residential Life Office and also run Room Draw, the process by which students select on-campus housing for the upcoming year each spring.
