Location
Benzine, set near Gabes in southern Tunisia, deals with undocumented immigration from the point of view of those who stayed behind. The protagonists, Salem and Halima are looking for their only son, Ahmed, who has been gone for a few months, trying to make his way to Italy as an undocumented immigrant. This movie raises questions about immigration and loss, addressing the issue of the pain of others, the parents left behind.
