for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
|April 15, 2017||
Bryn Mawr encourages you to import your income data directly from the IRS to the FAFSA using the IRS Data Retrieval (IRDT) too. This will simplify federal income tax data verification and procession time. Report social security numbers and legal names correctly. Without them, the U.S. Department of Education cannot process your results.
2015 Personal and Business Federal Tax Returns
|April 15, 2017||
NEW: Families will now complete the FAFSA and PROFILE using personal and tax information from two years prior (PPY). If parents and/or students have previously submitted 2015 federal income tax returns, they will not need to re-submit.
If parents and/or students have not previously submitted 2015 federal income tax returns, they must be sent directly to the Office of Financial Aid. DO NOT submit any documents to IDOC for 2017-2018. Submit signed photocopies of all 2015 federal (no state) income tax returns, both business and personal, including all W-2 forms, statements, attachments and schedules for both custodial and noncustodial parents, all stepparents, and applicant.
Note: The student's 2015 federal income tax return is only required if the student is selected for verification.
We encourage students and parents to use the IRS Data Retrieval (IRDT) for a more seamless process. Note, at this time the IRDT is unavailable due to technical issues. To meet the April 15th deadline, families must enter information manually until the IRDT is restored.
|Students who plan to live off campus (excluding JYA programs)||Summer 2017||
Please fax 610-526-5249 or send directly to Bryn Mawr Office of Financial Aid a photocopy of your signed off-campus lease with the amount that you will pay for rent and utilities written on the front with a signature and a date.
If you will commute from home, please so indicate on your financial aid application.
We will use the documentation you provide to calculate your individual cost of attendance. Please note that we are not able to consider off campus expenses in excess of the amount it costs to live on campus.
*Federal Aid Only: Students that are not interested in applying for need-based Bryn Mawr Grant aid, but would like to take advantage of U.S. Department of Education Federal Student Aid, including Federal Direct loans, are not required to complete the CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE or the Noncustodial Profile, or provide Noncustodial parent tax and income documentation. Contact the Office of Financial Aid to state this intent at email@example.com so that we may adjust our expectation of what you must provide before your financial aid application is complete. See full “Federal Aid Only” application instructions.
Bryn Mawr Merit Scholarship: Students that are Bryn Mawr Merit Scholarship recipients do not need to complete a financial aid application to continue their eligibility from year to year.
