POSITION TITLE: Director of Global Education Programs
Reporting to the Associate Dean of the Undergraduate College, the Director of Global Education Programs works closely with the Associate Dean for the Global Engagement and other institutional partners to provide strategic leadership and program administration and oversight of Bryn Mawr College students’ international education programs. The Director has primary responsibility for developing, overseeing, and promoting high-quality, high-impact educational experiences for Bryn Mawr undergraduates.
Lead and collaborate with faculty and other College partners to develop high quality, impactful global initiatives including study abroad, exchange programs, international internships and faculty-led educational experiences.
In consultation with College Counsel, monitor and track existing Memoranda of Understanding with international and third-party partners and facilitate the renewal or termination of agreements as necessary.
Serve as primary liaison to partner institutions and affiliate organizations and appropriately address challenges in the context of those relationships.
Publicize study abroad opportunities to first years and sophomores on study abroad opportunities through various means including public presentations, a robust website, program events for students, etc.
Conduct individual and group advising to undergraduates on study abroad programs, requirements, and application processes, review student applications, and present them to the Study Abroad Committee.
Oversee and implement all aspects of the application, registration process, and predeparture process (through Peoplesoft, Terra Dotta, etc) in concert with relevant College offices including Registrar, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Deans, etc.)
Chair the Study Abroad Committee and work with academic departments and faculty members to administer the study abroad programs, ensuring that all programs have faculty support, have been favorably reviewed by the Study Abroad Committee, and have administrative approval.
The Director will oversee all aspects of global education programs delivered by third-party providers and provide emergency management for students traveling outside the U.S. on college-sponsored programs.
Provide oversight and support to students during study abroad and create a program for students upon their return to campus.
Serve as an adviser to Bryn Mawr faculty and staff on international risk management, study abroad policies, and procedures. Collaborate with Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Finance and Administration to develop policies and implement budget targets.
Recruit, hire and supervise Study Abroad Student Coordinators.
Manage the payment of invoices to study abroad providers.
Collaborate with and advise various campus stakeholders to formulate and implement policies on health and safety, crisis and emergency management and risk assessment in study abroad and serve as the College’s point person in identifying and responding to any emergency situation involving students in college-sponsored activities abroad.
Ensures that the study abroad programs are evaluated regularly through a combination of the following: student evaluations, group debriefing sessions, faculty/staff site visits, financial and enrollment analysis, analysis of transcripts, and dialogue with host institution staff.
- Keeps abreast of developments in international education and trends in study abroad administration, management, and evaluation.

- Experience with Terra Dotta or similar software platforms
- Three to five years experience in college administration and international education, Masters degree in relevant field strongly desired. Ph.D.
