The Financial Aid Specialist assists the financial aid team with a variety of responsibilities, including serving on the front lines of customer service by answering phone calls and emails, and greeting visitors to the office. Position requires ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment with limited supervision. Person must be prepared to respond to tasks assigned as they arise to meet the needs of financial aid efforts. Person must be able to work well under stress of deadlines, and must be able to work well with technology, including use of Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to multi-task is of the utmost importance. The position requires strict confidentiality of data. Person needs a strong mastery of reading and writing to compose correspondence with families that represents the college.
High school diploma and commensurate experience in a related field required; Associate’s degree and one or more years of financial aid experience preferred; solid computer skills, communication skills, problem solving, and customer service skills are all desired.
