Library Assistant, Bryn Mawr College – 10 month position
Library and Information Technology Services (LITS) at Bryn Mawr College is seeking a Library Assistant to join the Library Research and Instructional Services team. The Library Assistant will be based half-time in the art library and half-time in the science library, and will work closely with the librarians in those two libraries. They will hire, train, and supervise student workers in both libraries; oversee circulation functions and course reserves; maintain oversight of the physical library collections; and provide locational and basic research assistance to library patrons. We are seeking someone who has a strong interest in customer service (and who does not necessarily have a background in library work), and who is detail-oriented and will be committed to providing excellent service to students, faculty, staff, and other library users. Candidates do not need to be familiar with library systems or Bryn Mawr's library management software (Alma), but they should have proficient basic computer skills and the ability to learn and stay current within a strongly collaborative environment that provides ample opportunities for training and professional development. This position is classified as clerical/technical, and is 35 hours per week for 10 months per year (August 15 – June 15). The Library Assistant will report to the Director of Library Research & Instructional Services.

Bachelor's or associate’s degree, experience in libraries, and some supervisory experience preferred.
