POSITION TITLE: Prospect Development Associate
The Prospect Development Associate is an integral member of Bryn Mawr College’s Development team. Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Prospect Development, this is a high-level administrative support position whose primary responsibility is writing briefing memoranda for campus executives, including the President. Other responsibilities include research, project management, and tracking prospect information in a systematic way.
The work of this position directly supports frontline fundraising activities and relationship development with campaign prospects.
- Research and gather information from a variety of resources.
- Produce briefing memoranda for campus executives with strong attention to detail to content and document formatting.
- Enhance data capture and data integrity.
- Identify new prospects through data mining, electronic screening, and other methods, and assign capacity ratings to those prospects.
- Track campus events and related requests for briefings and due dates.
- Contribute to the institutional memory of the College by capturing pertinent data points about prospects and donors into the database of record according to established business rules.
- bachelor’s degree required. One-two years work experience preferred.
- Position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong technology skills and the ability to initiate and perform complex analyses and organize large amounts of information.
- Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel. Database experience preferred with a penchant to learn.
- Strong project management skills and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others on a fundraising team.
- Excellent writing skills. Evidence of skill in preparing reports and memos with attention to detail in formatting documents.
- Knowledge of and interest in fundraising and philanthropy. Understanding of relevant policies in confidentiality and ethics in fundraising and information collection (such as APRA Ethics Statement and the Donors Bill of Rights).
- Demonstrated ability to work independent of direct supervision and to initiate necessary work procedures without specific instructions.
