Assistant Professor of Psychology

The Department of Psychology at Bryn Mawr College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Mental Health Psychology to begin August 1, 2023. The area of specialization within Mental Health Psychology could include exploration of the causes, experiences, and consequences of mental health concerns, as well as prevention or interventions to reduce psychosocial difficulties and/or promote psychological wellbeing. Candidates should hold a doctoral degree in Clinical, Counseling, or Community Psychology. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a survey course focused on mental health (i.e., Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or Community Psychology), seminar and lab courses in one’s area of expertise, and contribute to a departmental service course (i.e., Research Methods and Statistics or Introductory Psychology). We are looking for candidates who have a theoretically and methodologically sophisticated research program that can meaningfully incorporate undergraduate students in such research. Candidates with interests in community-engaged research and issues of culture, diversity, equity, and inclusion in mental health are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will have opportunities to employ community-focused methodologies and/or develop research relations in the City of Philadelphia. Candidates are also expected to be part of the department’s efforts to develop and teach a diverse and inclusive curriculum, including interdisciplinary programs and other college-wide initiatives such as the 360 Program and the Emily Balch Seminars. Candidates must have completed all Ph.D. requirements by the start date, and postdoctoral experience is desirable.
