Undocumented, DACA, and TPS Student Information
Breaking Barriers is dedicated to providing programming, support and resources to Bryn Mawr undocumented students and those who are part of the undocumented+ community.
At Bryn Mawr, we define undocumented+ to include those who hold Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), those with Temporary Protected Status (TPS) status, as well as those coming from mixed immigration status families (people who hold U.S. citizenship and who have family members who do not and vice versa). While each group may have a different status and encounter their own set of experiences, all groups are likely to face similar (or somewhat similar) circumstances. As part of the college's commitment to building a diverse and inclusive community, we are proud to offer programs and resources in support of undocumented+ students.
Below we’ve listed a few of our offerings through Breaking Barriers. Interested in learning more? Contact us at commsbreakingbarriers@brynmawr.edu
Check out our sub-pages for more information on support and resources for prospective and current Bryn Mawr undocumented students.
Breaking Barriers
A comprehensive array of supports offering resources and programming for first-generation, limited-income, and undocumented students. Admitted students who are eligible will receive an invitation to apply in mid-May. Current Bryn Mawr students may opt-in at any time.
Building Bridges
Interested in meeting others coming from similar circumstances? Consider joining our Building Bridges group. Building Bridges is for students who identify as part of the Undocumented+ community who wish to connect with one another and build community. Moreover, this group is open to Haverford College’s Undocumented+ community!
Navigating Pathways
Whether you are planning to attend graduate school or enter the workforce, consider joining Navigating Pathways! Through this group we offer career and professional development-oriented workshops and discussion for undocumented, DACA & TPS students. Students are asked to commit to attending all sessions.
Staff Professional Contacts
Have a question about something? Need additional support? Unsure who to contact? Our Staff Contacts consist of trained staff members across campus who have graciously volunteered to serve as their office/department's representative for Undocumented, DACA and TPS Bryn Mawr students. Don’t see an office/department on this list? Contact us at commsbreakingbarriers@brynmawr.edu
