Biography
Roberto Martínez Bachrich specializes in Latin American and Venezuelan Literature, with a focus on the Early Modern/Colonial World. He taught Latin American and Venezuelan Literature for 10 years at the Universidad Central de Venezuela, as well as Spanish and Topics in Spanish American Civilization at John Jay College and The New York City College.
Besides his teaching and academic life, Roberto Martínez Bachrich has published some short story collections (Desencuentros, 1998; Vulgar, 2000; Las guerras íntimas, 2011) and the biographical essay: Tiempo hendido, un acercamiento a la vida y obra de Antonia Palacios (2012), which received the Fundación para la Cultura Urbana 10th Annual Literary Award.
