In partnership with ACLAMO Family Center, a bi-lingual social service agency in Norristown, Bryn Mawr students work with children in grades K-8 providing support and coaching in reading and language comprehension and general homework help. Bryn Mawr volunteers commit to working once a week at ACLAMO and travel in a group to the site in a College van.
Bryn Mawr students are matched with students participating in ACLAMO’s after school programming based on grade preference. Volunteers may work one-on-one with children or in small groups.
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 to 6 p.m.
ACLAMO After-School students are divided up into rooms based on their age and grade. Bryn Mawr Student Coordinators match volunteers with individual students and small groups and BMC students work with their younger partners on reading, homework, and enrichment activities.
