In partnership with Belmont Charter School in Philadelphia, Bryn Mawr students are matched with individual Belmont students as mentors during after school programming. Bryn Mawr students travel to the school as a group (transportation is provided by Civic Engagement) and meet with their mentees once a week during the academic year.
Bryn Mawr students are matched with their mentees based on grade preference and mutual interest. Mentees are students in grades 2 through 8.
Mondays through Thursdays from 3:30—5:30 pm.
Mentors and mentees engage in interactive activities during their time together and spend the afternoons playing games, creating crafts, reading together, and getting to know one another.
You Should Know
Becoming a mentor is a full year commitment and mentors are encouraged to stay with the program and their mentee for multiple years, if possible.
