The Adelante Program Student Coordinators work in a team of three to oversee the administration and coordination of the ACLAMO Adelante STEAM Program. Adelante Coordinators will recruit, hire for any Adelante Coordinators, train, and coordinate a group of undergraduate student volunteers; attend weekly supervision meetings with their Civic Engagement supervisor; manage all aspects of supervising volunteers, including tracking attendance, developing a weekly curriculum and volunteer schedule, planning and facilitating monthly reflection/supervision sessions with volunteers, and serving as the volunteers’ primary contact, and create social media content to promote the program, and generate awareness, activism, and advocacy among members of the Bryn Mawr community. Specifically, these student coordinators will be responsible for acting as a liaison between the Bryn Mawr community and ACLAMO Family Center through their Adelante program. The Adelante Program seeks volunteers to engage a cohort of up to fifteen 7th and 8th grade and high school students and their parents from the Norristown Area School District in a college readiness program with an emphasis on personal development and STEM enrichment. The ACT Coordinators work in a team of two to oversee the administration and coordination of the Ardmore Community Tutoring Program. ACT Coordinators will: recruit, hire, train, and coordinate a team of undergraduate work-study tutors; attend weekly supervision meetings with their Civic Engagement supervisor; manage all aspects of supervising tutors including tracking attendance, matching tutors with tutees, developing a weekly tutoring schedule, planning and facilitating monthly reflection/supervision sessions with tutors, and serving as the tutors’ primary contact. The Ardmore Community Tutoring (ACT) Program is the College’s America Reads/America Counts program and functions through a partnership with Neighbors Helping Neighbors on the Main Line, a local nonprofit organization. Tutors and tutor coordinators must have federal work-study as part of their financial aid package to be eligible for these positions. ACT Tutors are undergraduate students who are matched with local students in grades K-12 for one-on-one tutoring partnerships in which they offer homework help and academic enrichment and support. Bryn Mawr tutors are matched with K-12 students through the College’s partnership with Neighbors Helping Neighbors on the Main Line, a local nonprofit organization. Tutors may meet with their tutees online via Zoom or in person at the Ludington Library in Bryn Mawr. Students must have federal work-study as part of their financial aid package in order to be eligible for these positions. Tutors can expect to work 4 – 6 hours per week during the academic year. The BMC Community Garden Coordinator will work to physically maintain the community gardens on campus which include one currently thriving garden located next to New Dorm Dining Hall. The Coordinator will promote student involvement in the gardens through recruitment and coordination of volunteers and facilitate connections with local environmental organizations through outreach and service. Staff Contact: Amanda Moser-Shick.

The Bryn Mawr Buddies Coordinators work in a team of two to oversee the administration and coordination of the Bryn Mawr Buddies Program. BMB Coordinators will: recruit, hire, train, and coordinate a team of undergraduate volunteers; attend weekly supervision meetings with their Civic Engagement supervisor; manage all aspects of supervising volunteers including tracking attendance, developing a weekly school visit schedule, planning and facilitating monthly reflection/supervision sessions with volunteers, and serving as the volunteers’ primary contact. The Bryn Mawr Buddies (BMB) Program Buddies is a mentorship program that pairs BMC students with international students from Merion Elementary School who speak the same language as they do. BMC volunteers assist their little buddies to adjust to school life in the U.S. by being a positive influence as they join them in class, on the playground and in other school activities. Career Peers represent the Center to internal and external constituents. They are trained to provide information and advice to students on resume and cover letter preparation, demonstrate the use of online resources and career exploration tools, and provide feedback during mock interviews with peers. Career Peers actively outreach to the College community on behalf of the Center in an "ambassador" role, present student programs to special interest groups and develop and implement marketing plans for events and services. Additionally, Career Peers assist with major Center events such as Mock Interview Day, Not-for-Profit and Public Service Career Fair, Bryn Mawr & Beyond, etc. Staff Contact: Dayna Levy.

The Forte Campus Ambassador works collaboratively and independently with one other Forte Ambassador to promote and champion the Forté mission on the BMC campus. Forte Ambassadors promote awareness of Forte by introducing Forte events to student clubs, organizations, and the overall campus community. Forte Ambassadors engage in marketing activities using social media (but not limited to social media) and other communication outlets to promote Forte participation and awareness. Forte Ambassadors are also responsible for completing a Forte career ready certificate and encouraging student peers to complete the certificate as well. Staff Contact: Dayna Levy.

The Student Life & Wellness Building hires self-motivated, well-organized, outgoing students to fill the Front Desk Office Assistant position.  This position supports the administrative teams in the Career & Civic Engagement Center, the The Impact Center for Community, Equity, and Understanding; and the Health & Wellness Center, and reports to the Administrative Program Coordinator in Career Engagement.  Major responsibilities include: greeting all visitors who come into the building, responding to inquiries in-person, via phone, and email; and assisting in the preparation of events run by the 3 Centers in the building.  Front Desk Office Assistants work 5-8 hours/week and attend a weekly staff meeting for ongoing training and teambuilding.  Staff contact: Catherine Schreiner.

The Girls One Diaspora Student Coordinators work in a team of two to oversee the administration and coordination of the Girls One Diaspora. The Girls One Diaspora Coordinators will recruit, hire any Girls One Diaspora Program Coordinators, train, and coordinate a group of undergraduate student volunteers; attend weekly supervision meetings with their Civic Engagement supervisor; manage all aspects of supervising volunteers, including tracking attendance, volunteer schedule, planning and facilitating monthly reflection/supervision sessions with volunteers, and serving as the volunteers’ primary contact, and create social media content to promote the program, and generate awareness, activism, and advocacy among members of the Bryn Mawr community. Specifically, these student coordinators will be responsible for acting as a liaison between the Bryn Mawr community and the College of Physicians. The Girls One Diaspora Program functions through a partnership with the College of Physicians located in Philadelphia. The program Coordinators seeks volunteers to engage with high school-aged students to support tutoring students in STEAM related disciplines. The Health Equity & Social Justice Student Coordinators work in a team of three to oversee the administration and coordination of the Health Equity & Social Justice Program. When needed, the Health Equity & Social Justice Coordinators will recruit, hire, and train Health Equity & Social Justice Coordinators; attend weekly supervision meetings with their Civic Engagement supervisor; manage all aspects of supervising volunteers, including tracking attendance, planning short and long-term volunteer opportunities onto Civic Engagement and BMC social media platforms, as well as into Handshake to recruit volunteers, preparing and facilitating volunteer opportunity reflections and serving as the volunteers’ primary contact, and create social media content to promote the program, and generate awareness, activism, and advocacy among members of the Bryn Mawr community. Specifically, these student coordinators will be responsible for acting as a liaison between the Bryn Mawr community and Health Equity & Social Justice program. In addition, the Health Equity & Social Justice Program Coordinators are responsible for increasing the health literacy of the Bryn Mawr College community by providing actionable information and pathways to get involved in addressing health equity issues through the How to Health Podcast. The Coordinators are responsible for conducting evidence-based research and recruiting internal and external experts to interview for the podcast. Office Assistants support the work of the Career & Civic Engagement Center by assisting in clerical tasks that include, but are not limited to, answering the phone, photocopying, filing, and typing. On occasion, Office Assistants are expected to make deliveries, room reservations, and participate in staff meetings.  Office assistants can help to plan, market, execute and staff events around campus. The Outreach and Service Manager will work with other Civic Engagement student coordinators and staff to promote involvement in service, activism and advocacy among members of the Bryn Mawr community.  Specifically, this student coordinator will be responsible for outreach to students who have had little involvement in service activities and will facilitate their connection to appropriate resources, events, and programs. The Outreach and Service Manager will work closely with the Outreach and Service Coordinator in carrying out these duties and will train this student to take on the manager position and primary responsibility for CE’s outreach and service activities. Staff Contact: Amanda Moser-Shick.

The Outreach and Service Coordinator will work with other student coordinators and staff to promote involvement in service, activism and advocacy among members of the Bryn Mawr community. Specifically, this student coordinator will be responsible for outreach to students who have had little involvement in service activities and will facilitate their connection to appropriate resources, events, and programs. The Outreach and Service Coordinator will coordinate outreach activities; serve as a liaison between the Center and students/student groups; and organize events and programs designed to encourage civic engagement among students who are new to community involvement. Staff Contact: Amanda Moser-Shick.

The Overbrook Art Program Student Coordinators work in a team of three to oversee the administration and coordination of the Overbrook Art Program. The Overbrook Art Coordinators will recruit, hire any Overbrook Art Program Coordinators, train, and coordinate a group of undergraduate student volunteers; attend weekly supervision meetings with their Civic Engagement supervisor; manage all aspects of supervising volunteers, including tracking attendance, developing a weekly art-based curriculum and volunteer schedule, planning and facilitating monthly reflection/supervision sessions with volunteers, and serving as the volunteers’ primary contact, and create social media content to promote the program, and generate awareness, activism, and advocacy among members of the Bryn Mar community. Specifically, these student coordinators will be responsible for acting as a liaison between the Bryn Mawr community and Overbrook Elementary School through their Overbrook Art program. The Overbrook Art Program seeks volunteers to engage with grade school-aged students from Overbrook Elementary School, part of the Philadelphia Area School District in an in-class art program. This position focuses on marketing our programs, events and services through our social media presence and other on-line resources, as well as print and face-to-face marketing. The Social Media Coordinator helps to plan and implement our social media marketing efforts including Instagram and Handshake. This person works with the professional staff to create and post content that will engage students and helps us develop plans to increase our online presence and activity. Civic Engagement relies on a team of student van drivers to assist fellow students in accessing their volunteer and field sites by providing transportation in a BMC College Van when appropriate. Students interested in this position must have a valid US driver’s license and be certified to drive a Bryn Mawr College van by the Bi-Co Transportation Department. Once van certified and hired, Van Drivers will be either assigned a regular driving shift or be “on call” for driving assignments as their schedule permits. Staff Contact: Sydney Robertson

The VITA Lead Coordinator will take a leadership role in organizing and implementing Bryn Mawr College’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) initiative with CADCOM in Norristown. In addition, the Lead Coordinator will work closely with the VITA Coordinator to prepare this student to take on the lead role in the following year. In so doing, the CPIA VITA Lead Coordinator plays an integral role in maintaining a sustainable relationship between Bryn Mawr College and the Norristown community. Staff Contact: Amanda Moser-Shick.
