Addendum to Publication Agreement

Directions for Producing an Addendum for Submission to Your Publisher

Read the publication agreement for your article and determine if it is in conflict with the Bryn Mawr College Open Access Policy. If you need assistance in interpreting the agreement, contact Camilla MacKay, Scholarly Communications Librarian (cmackay@brynmawr.edu).

If you do not require an addendum, email your paper to repository@brynmawr.edu or upload a copy of the final, peer-reviewed text of your article yourself by choosing your department in the repository.

If you do require an addendum, use this form:

  • Bryn Mawr Addendum (PDF)
  • Bryn Mawr Addendum (Word)

Enter the required information, print, sign, and date the completed addendum.

Sign and date the publisher's agreement. Immediately below your signature on the publisher's form, write: "Subject to attached addendum." Alternatively (or in addition) you may choose to write a cover letter explaining that your signature is subject to the addendum. This is very important. If you fail to do this, the addendum may be ineffective and you may be bound to the publisher's agreement without any modifications.

Make a copy of the publisher's agreement and the addendum for your records. Retain the copies of the documents for future reference.

Staple the original documents together and mail them to the publisher.

Email the file to repository@brynmawr.edu or upload a copy of the final, peer-reviewed text of your article yourself by choosing your department in the repository. If an embargo period is required by your publisher, be sure to indicate this fact and the date at which the embargo ends.
