Global Portal System (GPS)

What can I find in GPS?gps logo

The Global Portal System (GPS) allows you to find important information about your documentation, maintaining your visa status, and regulations regarding employment. You can also submit requests and updates that impact you I-20 or DS-2019. For a deeper summary of what is available in GPS, see the list below:

  • Important information for reference on Health Insurance, Social Security and Taxes
  • Information on employment (including, but not limited to, internships, research positions, volunteer work) and regulations for F1 and J1 visa holders
  • SEVIS Record Updates. Log into GPS to update your record for the following reasons;
    • Declaration/Change of Major or Minor
    • Leave of Absence
    • Transfer Out
    • Program Completion
    • Shorten Program
    • Program Extension
    • Change in Program Level
  • Requests for Travel Endorsement
  • Requests for I-20 or DS-2019 reprint if you have lost, had stolen or damages your original
  • Curricular Practical Training (CPT) application and requirements
  • Optional Practical Training (OPT) application and requirements
  • OPT reporting requirements information and submission
  • STEM OPT Extension application and requirements
