Detailed Biography:
Kelly Strunk first became acquainted with Civic Engagement programs in 2004 as a graduate student intern from the Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research. At that time, Kelly worked closely with the Praxis Program as a field placement coordinator.
Upon graduation, she moved to Vermont where she worked as a Coordinator of Academic Services for the Community College of Vermont (CCV). As part of her work with CCV, she instructed coursework and served on a variety of committees that addressed civic engagement, service learning, and career development.
With her return to Bryn Mawr, Kelly is again working with the Praxis Program. As Associate Director, she is responsible for supporting students, faculty and community partners in the development, implementation, and completion of field work experiences in Praxis I, II and Independent Study courses.
With over 14 years’ experience in the professional workforce, much of her work has focused on education and its intersection with community organizations and agencies.
Kelly completed the dual Master of Social Service and Master of Law and Social Policy program at Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research (’06) and received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication (with an emphasis in rhetoric) from the University of Colorado, Boulder (’99).
She lives with her husband, daughter, son, and two big dogs. Kelly is an avid hiker, gardener and reader. She loves music and finds herself most relaxed at outdoor concerts with her family.
