Patty joined LILAC as the Assistant Director of Career Counseling in Career and Professional Development (CPD). Prior to coming to Bryn Mawr, Patty spent three years working at Arcadia University's Office of Career Education where she provided career and graduate school counseling to students. She recently completed a clinical mental health internship at the Mazzoni Center in which she counseled members of the LGBTQ community in individual and group settings. Patty also brings five years of non-profit experience from her time with the Philadelphia Youth Network, where she managed youth workforce development programs and secured grants to fund initiatives to mitigate Philadelphia's drop-out crisis.
Patty earned her M.A. in Counseling from Arcadia University, where she also completed a certificate program in Trauma: Clinical Bases of Treatment and Recovery. She received a B.A. in English Literature with a concentration in Creative Writing from Temple University. Patty has completed specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Mental Health First Aid. Patty enjoys working with individuals of various cultural identities and helping her clients to consider how their unique identities influence their interactions with their environments. She is an active member of the Association for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Issues in Counseling and the Philadelphia Behavior Therapy Association.
Patty and her wife, Heather, live in Philadelphia's Fishtown neighborhood. She enjoys rowing, discovering new restaurants, and petting the dogs she meets while walking through the city.
