The Bi-College Department of Environmental Studies at Bryn Mawr College and Haverford College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in Environmental Humanities beginning August 1, 2021. We seek a colleague with teaching and research interests in the humanities or arts, (e.g., literary and/or visual studies, the creative arts, history, critical theory, cultural studies or philosophy) with areas of interest at the intersection of the environment and Social Justice, Indigenous Studies, Race and Ethnic Studies, or Gender and Sexuality Studies. Candidates interested in community-driven collaborations would be particularly welcome. The successful candidate will teach a total of five courses, including at least one writing intensive Introduction to Environmental Humanities course each semester, plus three additional courses over the academic year.
A Ph.D. is required by the start date and teaching experience is preferred. The position begins August 1, 2021. The review process will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. For full consideration, please submit application materials by March 29, 2021.
