Thinking of majoring in Psychology? The gateway class for all future classes is Introductory Psychology (Psych 105 or, at Haverford, Psych 100). Here is a list of additional courses we recommend that will prepare you for success in the major:
Psych 205 Research Methods and Statistics: In addition to being a requirement for the major, this course will help you get the most out of all other courses in the department.
Psych 28X: The 280-series of half-unit lab classes are also required by the department and are a good idea to complete as early as possible. Psych 205 is a prerequisite for all these lab classes.
Take 200-level classes in areas that are of interest to you.
Requirements for the Psychology Major by Class Year:
Requirements for Psychology Minor
A student may minor in Psychology by taking PSYC 105 and PSYC 205 and any other four courses that meet the requirements of the major.
