The Center for Social Sciences is located in extensively renovated Dalton Hall housing the Departments of Anthropology, Economics, Political Science, and Sociology. The Center for Social Sciences was established to match the new, shard physical space with a new conceptual space for the social sciences on campus. Our goals are twofold: 1) to raise the academic and intellectual visibility of the social sciences at Bryn Mawr and in the broader community; and 2) to build collaborative relationships among social science faculty and students.
During these years, we have supported faculty collaboration across campus departments. We have funded student-initiated events and offered enhanced opportunities for student/faculty collaboration in a number of areas. We are working to build social spaces in Dalton that will make the Center a campus gathering place for discussion of world events. A description of all our current activities can be found on the Activities Page.
