HSV Eligibility and Application

The HSV Program is on hiatus AY 2023-2024.

The HSV courses and workshops will be using the synchronous virtual classroom method for the 2022-2023 Academic Year.

HSV Eligibility

Applicants to Bryn Mawr’s Home and School Visitor Certificate Program must either be:

  • Students enrolled in Bryn Mawr’s Master of Social Service (M.S.S.) degree program, who may complete program requirements within their graduate curriculum; and
  • Individuals who have completed a master’s program in social work or in a related field at Bryn Mawr or another institution.

HSV Application Components:

  • Non-matriculated Student Application
    • The Non-matriculated Student Application is required from applicants other than current Bryn Mawr students.
    • RECOMMENDATION: Because some of the information on the HSV application is similar to that of your resume, it is recommended you have your resume in-hand before you start completing the application.
      • NOTE: Bryn Mawr College currently enrolled MSS students do not have to complete the application; however, they must meet with the HSV Certifying Officer to discuss program requirements.
  • Declaration of Intent
    • ALL students accepted into the HSV program must complete the Declaration of Intent form prior to starting in the program.
  • Interview with HSV Certifying Officer
    • ​​Applicants are to arrange an interview with Peggy Robinson, HSV Certifying Officer. (probinson@brynmawr.edu)
      • Interview can be done either by phone, Zoom or in-person

  • Official Graduate Transcript
    • Official graduate transcripts are required at time of application. 
      • Electronic (official / secured) transcripts are to be sent to the attention of: Peggy Robinson, probinson@brynmawr.edu
      • Or, Official Transcripts can be mailed to the attention of:
        • Bryn Mawr College, Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research, Center for Professional Development, 300 Airdale Rd., Bryn Mawr, PA 19010

Clearances: 
NOTE: The following clearances are usually required in order to work in a PA school. These clearances are not to be sent the Center's office.
