Racial Equity Learning Community

The Racial Equity Learning Community (RELC) is a cross-county, multi-sector initiative for organizations in Bucks and Montgomery Counties to come together to learn, build relationships, and take action that deepens organizational and collective capacity to advance racial equity and justice in our community. The Social Justice Initiative (SJI) has provided organizational coaching to other nonprofits participating in RELC since September 2021. The three planning partners -- the Bucks-Mont Collaborative, Tri-County Community Network, and Interagency Council of Norristown -- have made a minimum 3-year commitment to help coordinate this learning community with the national best practices of the nINA Collective trainers.

In 2022, Dr. Darlyne Bailey and Advisory Council members Marianne Kaplan (Kaplan Consulting Network) and Kelly McNally Koney (Kyla Alliance) teamed up to provide bi-monthly coaching sessions with 8 participating organizations in our local network. In 2023, Darlyne Bailey and Graduate Assistant Sarah Spath have represented the SJI directly, while Marianne and Kelly have continued to provide coaching under their respective consulting practices. The SJI’s coaching work is aimed at supporting the direct application of learning throughout the organizations, assisting with building competency around anti-racist organizational development, guiding hands-on application of tools and templates within the organizations, and aiding them in development of organization-wide Racial Equity Action Plans.
