Class and Reunion Volunteers

Each class has a complement of class officers to help keep classmates connected through communications, events, and Reunion Weekend.

Class officer position descriptions

Class President(s), (Elected)

The Class President is the representative of the class to the College, including the Alumnae Association and Development. The Class President leads your class and should hold at least one meeting a year with the Class Executive Board (it can be by phone). The President writes an annual letter, and appoints alumnae to new or vacant positions as needed. The President must attend a volunteer training session at least every other year, including the academic year of Reunion, or as stipulated by the Executive Board of the Alumnae Association.

Reunion Manager(s), (Elected)

The Reunion Manager serves as the liaison between the Alumnae Association and the class for the purpose of Reunion Planning. The Reunion Manager will lead the the class and organize an engagement plan for Reunion and plan reunion activities. The Reunion Manager must attend a volunteer training session the academic year of Reunion.

Reunion Gift Chair(s), (Elected)

The Reunion Gift Chair(s) works with the Alumnae/i Relations and Development Office to coordinate class fundraising efforts on behalf of the College. The Reunion Gift Chair makes a gift or pledge to The Bryn Mawr Fund before soliciting classmates. The Reunion Gift Chair helps staff determine best strategy for soliciting gifts, recruits a gift committee, reviews monthly gift reports, and thanks classmates who have given. The Reunion Gift Chair must attend a volunteer training session at least every other year, including the academic year of Reunion. Learn more about becoming a fundraising volunteer

Communications Manager, (Elected)

The Communications Manager is in charge of all class communications with the exception of the Annual letter, which is written by the President.  This includes sending emails about class events or updates and managing a class Facebook page or website. The Communications Manager should attend a volunteer training session at least during the academic year of reunion but is welcome to attend more frequently.

Class Notes Editor, (Elected)

The Class Notes Editor collects news from classmates and writes a bi-annual class notes column for the Alumnae Bulletin quarterly magazine.  The Class Notes Editor should attend a volunteer training session at least during the academic year of reunion but is welcome to attend more frequently.

Songmistress/mister/mistex, (Elected)

The Songmistress preserves class songs, writes new ones when necessary for Reunion and leads class at Reunion Step Sings (must attend next Reunion). The Songmistress should attend a volunteer training session at least during the academic year of reunion but is welcome to attend more frequently.

Bryn Mawr Fund Volunteer

Bryn Mawr Fund (“BMF”) volunteers work with the BMF Class Chairs to solicit classmates to make gifts or pledges to The Bryn Mawr Fund annually.  They do this by calling, writing and emailing classmates. They also thank classmates who have given. BMF volunteers work with staff members in the BMF office in Development. All BMF volunteers should attend Volunteer Summit in the fall and participate in conference calls with other class fundraising volunteers.
