RENAISSANCE CHOIR TO GIVE CONCERT OF MUSICAL ANOMALIES

The Bryn Mawr Renaissance Choir, in conjunction with the Spectra Musica Wind Band, will present a free concert of 15th-, 16th- and 17th-century music in Thomas Great Hall on Sunday, April 4, at 3 p.m. The selections in this concert are each "one of a kind": either the lone surviving gems of otherwise unknown composers or peculiar anomalies from the oeuvres of the great Renaissance composers. The program consists of works sung or played by more than 15 composers, including William Byrd, Orlandus Lassus, Claudio Monteverdi, Josquin des Préz and Michael Praetorius; the various choral selections have been set in six languages.
