BRYN MAWR'S LACROSSE TEAM TIES ITS WINNING RECORD

Lacrosse Players
Fords make an attempt at Bryn Mawr's
goal at a game on Wednesday, April 21.

Bryn Mawr's lacrosse team tied its record for number of wins in a season last Thursday, April 15, when a 19-3 victory over Lancaster Bible College brought the team's total number of wins to eight. The Owls have since fallen to Franklin and Marshall and Haverford in Centennial Conference play, but retain a winning record overall and are undefeated in nonconference play.

Millie Bond '05, Jen Lam '06, Casey Cross '04 and Courtney Black '05 have been standout offensive players this season. Grace Na '05, who leads the conference in caused turnovers, Vanessa von Hagen '04, who ranked fourth in the conference in caused turnovers, and goalie Sarah Caldwell '04 have led the team's defensive efforts. Although this is Caldwell's first year at the goal, she ranked seventh in the conference in goalkeeping last week. Von Hagen and Caldwell played together at Wallingford's Strath Haven High School.

There are three more chances to show support for the Owls while they play on their home turf against challenging Centennial Conference opponents, says Head Coach Katie Tarr. The Owls will take on Washington College on Thursday, April 22, at 4:30 p.m. Dickinson College will visit at noon on Saturday, April 24, and the Owls will play Ursinus in a rescheduled game on Monday, April 26, at 4:30 p.m.
