ON CAMPUS: BI-CO FALL STUDENT DANCE CONCERT; KOP SATURDAY SHUTTLE; ARTISTIC ACTIVISM; COSIMO'S BLACK WIDOW; DESSERT WITH THE HONOR BOARD; WAGNER AND BRAHMS AT THE BI-CO; PENSION-PLAN COUNSELING; YOU VOTED — NOW WHAT?

Bi-Co Fall Student Dance Concert. Ballet, Hip Hop, Jazz, Bhangra, Modern and Irish are among the dance styles students will present at the Bi-College Fall Student Dance Concert. The program, which is produced, choreographed and performed entirely by Bryn Mawr and Haverford students, will be offered twice: once on Saturday, Nov. 13, from 8 to 9:30 p.m., and in a matinee on Sunday, Nov. 14, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Both performances will take place in Haverford's Marshall Auditorium in Roberts Hall, and are open to all. For more information, contact mmillar@brynmawr.edu.

KOP Saturday Shuttle. Bryn Mawr students who are in need of a little retail therapy can look to the Student Activities Office for help this Saturday, Nov. 13. A shuttle to the King of Prussia mall will leave the Campus Center parking lot at 3 p.m. and return to campus at 9 p.m.

The free bus is open only to students, who may sign up in the Student Life Office in the Campus Center. For more information, contact Student Activities Coordinator Mary Beth Horvath at mhorvath@brynmawr.edu.

Artistic Activism. Performance artist Deb Shoval, who describes herself as "a Jew who opposes the occupation of Palestine," will give a presentation in Taylor D on Tuesday, Nov. 16, from 8:30 to 10 p.m. Titled "Artistic Resistance to Occupation: A Slideshow and Discussion About Anti-Occupation Work Through the Arts in Palestine, Israel and the United States," the presentation is sponsored by Students for Justice in Palestine.

Cosimo’s Black Widow. Wheaton College Assistant Professor of Art History Allison Levy, Ph.D. 2000, will return to Bryn Mawr on Wednesday, Nov. 17, to give a talk titled "Cosimo's Black Widow: Recuperative Narratives and Other Crutches in Early Modern Florence," as part of the Center for Visual Culture's weekly colloquium series. The lecture will be given in Thomas 224, from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m.; light refreshments will be served.

Levy's research reconsiders a surprisingly large and powerful group of women in early Renaissance Florence, in order to understand the conventions of widow portraiture and mourning ritual as a window into masculine anxiety about the independent positions these women held.

Dessert with the Honor Board. The Bryn Mawr College Honor Board has recently released a set of abstracts of honor board cases. Members of the campus community who are interested in discussing the issues raised by the abstracts are invited to join the Honor Board for dessert and conversation on Thursday, Nov. 18, from 9 to 10 p.m. at Clynnoc (215 Cambrian Row). For more information, contact Katie Clark at kclark@brynmawr.edu.

Wagner and Brahms at the Bi-Co. On Friday, Nov. 19, at 8 p.m., the Haverford-Bryn Mawr Orchestra directed by Thomas Hong will present a concert featuring the Prelude to "Die Meistersinger von Nürnbuerg" Op. 47 by Richard Wagner (1813-1883), and Symphony No. 4 in E Minor, Op. 98 by Johannes Brahms (1833-1897). The concert will be held on the Haverford Campus in Roberts Hall, Marshall Auditorium. Parking is free in the visitor's parking lot and the hall is wheelchair-accessible. The concert is free and open to the public.

Pension-Plan Counseling. Representatives of TIAA-CREF and Vanguard will be on campus on the following dates for individual counseling sessions:

Vanguard
Tuesday, November 16

TIAA-CREF
Friday, November 19
Monday, November 22

The sessions will be held in the Human Resources building; please contact Deborah Harley at x5261 to make an appointment. Since there is a high demand for these sessions, they are not available to employees who met with a counselor during the spring semester.

TIAA-CREF participants can meet alternatively with a counselor at the Philadelphia regional office, which is located at 1835 Market St. If you want to make an appointment with TIAA-CREF at that location, please call them at 1-800-842-2010.

You Voted — Now What? Professor of Biology Paul Grobstein has created an open online forum where members of the Bryn Mawr community can share their perspectives and concerns about the recent U.S. presidential election. All are welcome to read and contribute to "The Place of the U.S. in the World Community, November, 2004" at http://serendip.brynmawr.edu/forum/viewforum.php?forum_id=297.
