| ON CAMPUS: EMOTION AND MUSIC, OSCAR CELEBRATION, SISTERHOOD CULTURE SHOW
Exploring Emotion In Music. On Wednesday, March 2, visiting presenter Jenefer Robinson will speak at the Philosophy Colloquium on "Emotion in Music." Robinson, a professor of philosophy at the University of Cincinnati, is the author of Deeper Than Reason: Emotion and Its Role in Literature, Music and Art. Her views on emotion cast doubt on currently prevalent "judgment" theories, drawing on psychological theories that stress the physiological aspects of emotion. Robinson applies this model of emotion to problems in aesthetics, such as the expression of emotion in art and the emotional experience of art by readers and audiences. The lecture will take place in Thomas 224 and run from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Contact Lorraine Kirschner at lkirschn@brynmawr.edu for more information.
Glamour in the Great Hall. The party will run from 8 to 11:45 p.m. Contact Mary Beth Horvath at mhorvath@brynmawr.edu for more information.
