| APRIL FITNESS MONTH OFFERS MANY PATHS TO WELLNESS The Department of Athletics and Physical Education is determined to make this year's April Fitness Month appeal to every member of Bryn Mawr's faculty and staff, from triathletes to recovering couch potatoes. To that end, the department is offering a full calendar of activities for people at all levels of fitness — and free t-shirts for the first 60 participants.
"We replaced the former April Challenge with April Fitness Month in hopes that the community will find activities of interest and join their co-workers in the fun," says Director of Athletics and Physical Education Amy Campbell. "No registration is necessary — show up, bring a friend and join in any one of the many activities and classes. A full array of Bryn Mawr athletic gear and books is available at the College bookshop."
Afternoon walks with members of the College's coaching and athletic training staff will provide a pleasant entrée into the world of aerobic exercise. Morning yoga classes can help focus the mind and body. Badminton, basketball and volleyball games can satisfy the competitive urge; dance and movement classes may appeal to those of artistic disposition; swimming and two levels of aerobics classes will get hearts pumping; and the Women Living Well brown-bag lecture series will offer discussions led by expert speakers.
