| MADCAT FILM FESTIVAL COMES TO BRYN MAWR
On Wednesday, April 20, the MadCat Women's International Film Festival will come to Bryn Mawr. MadCat, a highly regarded San Francisco festival featuring independent and experimental films and videos directed by women, takes its programs on nationwide tours each year. MadCat's visit to the College is sponsored by the Film Studies Program; the screening will take place in Thomas 224 at 7 p.m. and is expected to last about an hour and a half. The program is free and open to the public, and MadCat t-shirts will be raffled off to the audience.
The MadCat program to be shown at Bryn Mawr, titled "The Experimentalists," comprises 11 shorts by directors who "manipulate the medium, creating the visual delights offered in this series of gorgeous 16mm contemporary avant-garde films," according to MadCat's Web site. The films range in length from one-and-a-half to 17 minutes and are quite varied in subject matter, tone and technique. For more information, e-mail Munira Lokhandwala at mlokhand@brynmawr.edu.
