| THREE OWLS NAMED ARTHUR ASHE SPORTS SCHOLARS
Bryn Mawr College scholar-athletes Mary Lagdameo '05, Jen Lam '06 and Ruth Zohrer '05 were recently named 2005 Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports Scholars by Black Issues in Higher Education. Lagdameo made the second team in women's track and field; Lam was named to the women's lacrosse team and Zohrer was named to the second team in women's soccer.
| Senior Mary Lagdameo is an East Asian studies major from Howell, N.J. Lagdameo has competed for Bryn Mawr for one season in indoor and two seasons of outdoor track and field. |

| Jen Lam is a junior biology major with a minor in economics. She is from Akron, Ohio. Lam is currently in her third season of lacrosse for the Owls. |

| Senior Ruth Zohrer is a double major in music and political science with a minor in French. Zohrer, who was a 2003 Ashe Sports Scholar in both soccer and lacrosse, is from Mexico City. Zohrer has competed in soccer each of her four years at Bryn Mawr. |

Inspired by Arthur Ashe Jr.'s commitment to education and his love for the game of tennis, Black Issues in Higher Education established the Sports Scholars Awards to honor undergraduate students of color who have made achieving in both academics and athletics a winning combination. To be nominated, students must compete in an intercollegiate sport, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 and be active on their campuses and in their communities.
