Poet Moira Egan '84 and fiction writer Alison Hicks '82 will read to a multigenerational Bryn Mawr audience at a reception sponsored by the Bryn Mawr Club of Philadelphia on Sunday, April 24, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Quita Woodward Room, Thomas Library. Moira Egan's poems have appeared in many journals, including POETRY, American Letters & Commentary, Boulevard and The Laurel Review, and in the anthologies Kindled Terraces: American Poets in Greece and Lofty Dogmas: Poets on Poetics. She has an M.F.A. from Columbia University, where James Merrill chose her manuscript for the Austin Prize. A Pushcart Prize nominee, she directs the creative-writing program in a public high school in Baltimore.

Alison Hicks

Alison Hicks' fiction, poetry and nonfiction have appeared in The Ledge, Pinyon, Peregrine, The Wooster Review and other journals. She is a recipient of a fellowship in creative nonfiction from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. A senior partner of Amherst Writers & Artists, she leads writing workshops under the name Greater Philadelphia Wordshop Studio.
