| BMC SOCCER, FIELD HOCKEY PLAYERS EARN CENTENNIAL CONFERENCE HONORS
After outstanding performances last week, freshwoman soccer player Mia Theroux and sophomore field hockey player Ashley Dawkins were named Players of the Week for the Centennial Conference.
Theroux, a midfielder from Holt, Mich., racked up 11 points in a 2-2 week for the Owls. All of her points came in Bryn Mawr's first two home games. Against the Philadelphia Biblical University on Sept. 6, Theroux scored two goals and had one assist in a 4-2 victory. In a 5-3 win over Immaculata University on Sept. 10, Theroux managed to better her last home performance, scoring two goals and passing for two assists. Currently, Theroux is tied for the conference lead in goals per game (1) and total assists (3), and is ranked second in total points (11) and points per game (2.75). Theroux and the soccer team's next game is on Thursday, at 7 p.m., when the Owls travel to Widener University.
A midfielder/forward from Reading, Pa., Ashley Dawkins scored three goals in two games last week for the Bryn Mawr field hockey team. Dawkins' week was highlighted by a two-goal effort against Mary Baldwin on Sept. 10, in which she led the Owls back from a 0-2 deficit to earn a 3-2 victory. In a 2-7 loss at Immaculata on Sept. 7, Dawkins added another goal. For the year, Dawkins is currently ranked second in the Centennial Conference in points per game (3) and goals per game (1.5). The field hockey team hosts Washington College (Md.) tomorrow afternoon at 4:30 p.m. in the team's first conference game of the season.
