Face Value Looks at Race Issues Through Dance. On Friday, Nov. 4, at 8 p.m., the Racism Dance Theatre Workshop will present a performance of Face Value by dance major Natalie Bishar '06. Sponsored by the Dance Program and the Office of Intercultural Affairs, the performance is part of a senior thesis project in which Bishar investigates the "racial lens through which we perceive the world." The performance, which is free and open to all, will be followed by a short discussion. It will take place in the Pembroke Dance Studio.

A Different Kind of Bird Fever. Perhaps the Bryn Mawr Health Center staff should prepare itself — an outbreak of Eagles Fever is expected to sweep through campus on Sunday, Nov. 6. Bob Kelly, host of KYW-TV's "Tailgate Takeover," will broadcast live at Bryn Mawr from 11 a.m. to noon to show how Bryn Mawr students, faculty and staff show their loyalty to the hometown heroes on the day of the Birds' away contest with the Washington Redskins. A potluck "tailgate" party in the Campus Center Main Lounge begins at 10:45 a.m. and is open to all fans. Event organizer Devon Montgomery '06 is also organizing a flag football game between faculty and staff for the broadcast. For more information and to sign up for the team, e-mail her at dmontgom@brynmawr.edu.

Going Public Author Speaks on Community Activism. Michael Gecan, longtime community organizer and social-justice activist for the Industrial Areas Foundation, will speak in the Katherine Lower Lounge at the Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research on Monday, Nov. 7., from 7 to 9 p.m. Gecan is the author of Going Public: An Inside Story of Disrupting Politics as Usual, hailed by The Nation as "the inside story of an extraordinary politics you probably didn't know existed — ordinary Americans getting together and acquiring real power for themselves." Gecan's talk, free and open to all, is sponsored by the GSSWSR and the Center for Ethnicities, Communities and Social Policy.

Self-Governance Forum. On Monday, Nov. 7, the Office of Intercultural Affairs will host a forum titled "Where Do We Go From Here?" from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. in the Campus Center Main Lounge. The moderated discussion will focus on "finding viable solutions to the questions that have been raised since last year's plenary" about inclusiveness and self-government. Questions and suggestions may be submitted via e-mail to dahmed@brynmawr.edu.

Campus Literary Journal Seeks Contributions From Students, Faculty, Staff.
