Mia Theroux '09 Led Soccer Team with 19 points in 2005
Mia Theroux, a first-year midfielder on the Bryn Mawr soccer team, was named Second Team All-Centennial Conference after an exceptional 2005 season for the Owls. A native of Holt, Mich., Theroux led the soccer team this season in both goals (seven) and assists (five).
One of only three freshwomen soccer players named Second Team All-Centennial or higher this year, Theroux had three games this season in which she scored two goals. In her first game as an Owl, she tallied two goals and had an assist against Philadelphia Bible on Sept. 6. Two games later, she bettered her debut performance with a two-goal, two-assist effort against Immaculata. Theroux's last goal of the season came at home in a thrilling 2-1 victory over conference opponent Washington College (Md.) on Oct. 26.
Theroux racked up 19 points this year, averaging 1.06 points per game, which was the third-highest single season total in the 20-year history of the Bryn Mawr soccer program. Her seven goals tied for the fourth-highest single season total in school history and her average of 3.72 shots per game was the second-highest single season total at Bryn Mawr.
Theroux also finished the 2005 season among the categorical leaders in the Centennial Conference. She finished fourth in the conference in shots (66), fifth in assists and seventh in total points.
Next season, Theroux will lead a young and talented returning group determined to improve upon its 6-12 overall record and 1-9 conference mark in 2005.
