RED CROSS COMES TO CAMPUS FOR BLOOD, PLATELET DRIVES

A blood drive in Thomas Great Hall on Wednesday, Feb. 1, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. will give members of the campus community a convenient opportunity to contribute to a dwindling local blood supply. Organized by Acting Director of Athletics and Physical Education Jody Law, the drive is sponsored by the Penn-Jersey branch of the American Red Cross. In addition to the whole-blood drive in the Great Hall, a platelet drive will take place from noon to 4 p.m. in a bloodmobile to be stationed in front of Goodhart.

To register for the blood drive, fill out the online form at http://www.pleasegiveblood.org/donate, using the sponsor code 5X03. The page includes links to frequently asked questions about blood donations and an eligibility guide. The form asks for an e-mail address, and registrants will get a reminder e-mail two days before the drive. Donors should allow themselves an hour to give blood.
