| CENTER FOR VISUAL CULTURE SERIES RESUMES FEB. 1
The Center for Visual Culture's weekly colloquium series will resume this Wednesday, Feb. 1, with "The Future of Visual Culture: A Conversation," says Center Director and Associate Professor of History of Art Lisa Saltzman. The colloquia take place in Thomas 224 from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m.; light refreshments are provided. The presentations are free and open to all.
Among the roster of visiting speakers are Tim Corrigan, the new director of Film Studies at the University of Pennsylvania; Ingrid Schaffner, chief curator at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia; Jennifer Hirsh, M.A. '97, a postdoctoral fellow in Hellenic Studies at Princeton; Michael Leja, a newly appointed professor of American art at the University of Pennsylvania; and Anne Rorimer '66, an independent curator and art historian in Chicago.
"We are also very pleased that various members of the Bryn Mawr community will be presenting new work, among them Instructor in Growth and Structure of Cities Daniela Sandler, Associate Professor of German Imke Meyer, Professor of History of Art Christiane Hertel and Professor of Social Work and Social Research Toba Kerson," Saltzman says. "Finally, we are delighted that Chris Pavsek, a member of the German department at Haverford, will be screening and discussing his new short film, To Those Born After."
