| LACROSSE TEAM OPENS SEASON WITH SHOW OF STRENGTH
Two commanding victories and a Centennial Conference Player of the Week Award for team captain Jen Lam '06 opened a promising season for the Bryn Mawr Lacrosse team.
On March 4, the Owls kicked off the season by torching nonconference opponent North Carolina Wesleyan, 13-8, to improve to 1-0. Lam, the Owls' leading scorer in 2005, began the 2006 campaign in impressive fashion, racking up a team-best four goals. (See full story)
On March 7, Lam's performance in the Wesleyan game earned her the Centennial Conference's Player of the Week accolade. (See full story)
The team's second game, during Spring Break, further established the team's bright prospects with an 11-0 shutout against California's Whittier College at Whittier's Donald Graham Field. By nearly midnight Eastern Standard Time, Lam had scored five goals and Greta Flaherty '08 and Moriah Scott '08 had both racked up three scores as Bryn Mawr stayed unbeaten at 2-0 in the young season. The Owls didn't fall until game three, when the University of Redlands overcame a strong performance by Lam and company to top Bryn Mawr 8-4. (See full story)
The Owls will trek to Cedar Crest College on March 16 at 4 p.m. for their next game.
