Panel Discussion on Environment to Focus on Relationship of Knowledge to Policy

On Saturday, April 29, Bryn Mawr will host a panel of distinguished environmental activists, scholars and policy-makers at a forum discussion titled "Environmental Studies: From Knowledge to Policy."

Bryn Mawr Students Perform in Philadelphia; Dances Address Perception, Race

Two Bryn Mawr dance majors have been invited to present their senior projects at Festival 42, a two-day dance event organized by the Philadelphia dance company 7DanceCo., on Saturday, April 29, at St. Mark's Church, 4442 Frankford Ave. in Philadelphia.

This year's celebration is a Grand May Day, an enhanced celebration held every four years, and it holds the unusual distinction of occurring in April — on Sunday, April 30.


Harriers Earn National Academic Honors

A pair of first-year Bryn Mawr cross-country runners, Julia Lustick '09 and Katie Weng '09, were recently named to the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's All-Academic Team.

Bryn Mawr Seniors Awarded Fulbrights

Two Bryn Mawr seniors have been awarded Fulbright English Teaching Assistantships for 2006-07. Jodi Eisenberg, a major in comparative literature, will teach in Spain; Katherine Klenn, an English major with a minor in anthropology, will teach in South Korea.

Chemistry Major Awarded Thomas J. Watson Fellowship

Chemistry major Shadia Bel Hamdounia '06 will spend next year studying birthing practices in Denmark, India and South Africa, thanks to a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship. The prestigious grant is awarded annually to about 50 graduating seniors nationwide.


Award-Winning Poet Frank Bidart to Read

Frank Bidart, a recipient of the Academy of American Poets' prestigious Wallace Stevens Award, will give a reading at Bryn Mawr on Friday, April 21, at 7:30 p.m. in the Ely Room of Wyndham Alumnae House.


Spring Dance Concert Offers Eclectic Mix

Bryn Mawr, Haverford and Swarthmore students will perform in the concert, to be presented in Bryn Mawr's Goodhart Theater at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 21, and Saturday, April 22. The performance is free and open to the public; a reception will follow each performance.
