Hepburn Center Launch Brings Singer, Scholars and Activists to Campus

			Famed Actress Blythe Danner to Accept Hepburn Medal Danner, a critically acclaimed star of stage and screen and a committed environmentalist, will be honored alongside Lauren Bacall at a September gala celebrating the launch of Bryn Mawr's Katharine Houghton Hepburn Center.

			Screen Legend Lauren Bacall to Accept First Katharine Hepburn Medal The award, which recognizes "women whose lives, work and contributions embody the intelligence, drive and independence of Katharine Hepburn," will be presented to Bacall at Philadelphia's Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, Sept. 9.

			Mallory Research Partnership Honored for Lifetime Achievement W. Alton Jones Professor of Chemistry Frank Mallory and his wife and research partner Sally Mallory '59, M.A. '60, Ph.D. '63, were invested as fellows of the Inter-American Photochemical Society — an honor only 12 other scientists have received.

			Chemistry Professor Goes Broccoli One Better in Search for Cancer Drug Scientists at the Lankenau Insititute for Medical Research turned to Bryn Mawr Assistant Professor of Chemistry William Malachowski to help them create a more potent version of a compound found in broccoli as a potential cancer-immunotherapy drug.
