Spring Dance Concert Offers a Variety of Styles
On Friday, April 27, and Saturday, April 28, Bryn Mawr and Haverford dancers will take to the stage in Goodhart Theater, performing an eclectic variety of works by student choreographers, Bryn Mawr faculty members and noted Philadelphia dance artists. Performances will be at 7:30 p.m.; each will be followed by a reception. The shows are free and open to the public; for more information, call 610-526-5210.
Ballet, modern, funk, African dance and tap are among the concert's offerings. Student choreographers Marcelina Chavira '07 and Adaobi Kanu '08 will introduce new pieces, and Hannah Albrecht '08, Chavira, Siggy Moore HC '09, Laura Murray HC '10 and Maeve O'Hara '08 will present a tap quintet.
Bi-College dancers will also perform works by Myra Bazell, co-director and choreographer of Scrap Dance Collective; Amanda Miller, co-founder and co-artistic director of Miro Dance Theatre; Jeannine Osayande, director of Dunya! Performing Arts Company; and faculty choreographers Madeline Cantor and Linda Caruso Haviland.
