New Provost, Haverford President to Appear
at Fall Convocation Tuesday Morning
The College will mark the beginning of the 2007-08 academic year next Tuesday, Sept. 4, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., with its traditional Fall Convocation. President Nancy J. Vickers will reflect on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. She will be joined at the podium by Raymond Albert, co-dean of the Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research, Dale Kinney, dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and Karen Tidmarsh, dean of the Undergraduate College. Newly appointed Provost Kim Cassidy and Haverford President Stephen Emerson will both deliver their first Bryn Mawr convocation addresses.
The event takes place in Thomas Great Hall; a continental breakfast will be served. The President's Office encourages all members of the community to attend and asks that departments and offices close to the extent possible while convocation is under way. The beginning of Tuesday-morning classes will be postponed until the gathering has ended.
