The Hot Club of San Francisco to Perform "Gypsy Jazz" in Goodhart

The string quintet will give its first Philadelphia-area performance at Goodhart Theater on Saturday, Sept. 15, at 8 p.m., opening the 2007-08 Performing Arts Series.

Creative Writing Reading Series Opens Sept. 27

Seven prizewinning practitioners of the arts of poetry, memoir, essay and fiction will visit the Bryn Mawr campus this year as part of the Creative Writing Program Reading Series.


Fall Sports Season Opens With Some Strong Performances

The 2007-08 athletic season opened last week for Bryn Mawr's fall athletes with especially strong showings from the cross-country team, led by the fleet-footed Katie Weng '09, and from a promising young volleyball team.

On Wednesday, Aug. 29, Bryn Mawr College welcomed the 355 members of the Class of 2011 to its campus, along with six transfer students and six Katharine McBride Scholars. The most common name in the class of 2011: Sarah.

Two Bryn Mawr staff members — Senior Instructional Technologist Laura Blankenship and GIS Coordinator and Map Curator Betsy Reese — are among the first recipients of a fellowship offered by the National Institute for Technology in Liberal Education.

Twenty-four blue "Scribbler" robots were dancing, drawing and making music in a Park Science Building classroom as students showed off what they've accomplished in a groundbreaking computing course.
